Runescape Bots €“ Outsmarting The System

As seems to be a very common theme within both the rules of Runescape, as issued by Jagex, but also by various groups that discuss the importance of the adherence of the game, an oft stressed point regards to the fairness of the game for all players at all levels. This familiar theme is the point to the rule that regards to outside software not being allowed for use in the game, such as having RuneScape bots. The point is that if a player uses bots, he or she can fill up the various areas, training and otherwise, and not allow others to utilize them until the player removes the character or bot. This actually was at one time not considered illegal from the perspective of the operators of RuneScape. It was, ultimately not the operators, but rather the players themselves
that asked for a restriction to the bots; as playing became difficult for many players to move through the worlds with freedom and liberty. It seems interesting that many of the restrictions imposed from the operators upon the players many times appear to be met with great skepticism and irritation (as is exemplified by the myriad ways in which various players go to great lengths, including risking a permanent account ban, in order to circumvent these rules), but in this case it was the players themselves that sought for greater regulation. The player-requested restrictions on such impositions as the RuneScape bots alludes to a greater hope to play the game as was initially intended, giving a level playing field to all who enter the virtual land of RuneScape.
